The Moorehead Circle: An update on the fieldwork on the Moorehead Circle at Fort Ancient, Warren County Ohio.

Notes:
Dr Riordan has extensive experience with fieldwork with Mississippian sites in southern Ill., in the Caribbean on historic plantation slave sites and in SW Ohio on many projects including the Pollock Works hilltop enclosure. He has published extensively on Hopewell Enclosures in Ohio.

2012 Archaeological Institute of America/SunWatch Presentation Series: The Archaeology of Conflict*
Join us at 10:30am on the second Saturday of each month from January through April as we explore evidence from scenes of conflict in the archaeological record**.

Saturday January 14:A Tale of Two Horses: The Occurrence of a War of 1812 Double Horse Burial at Fort Meigs , Wood County , Ohio . Presented by Bill Pickard- Ohio Historical Society.

Saturday February 11:Class Conflict at the Ludlow Massacre Site, Southeastern Colorado . Presented by Dr. Dean Saitta- University of Denver.

Saturday March 10:Dragons of the North: The World of Viking Longships. Presented by Dr. John Hale- University of Louisville.

Saturday April 14:The Archaeological Exploration of Sikyon: A Comprehensive Approach to the Study of a Greek City-State. Presented by Dr. Yannis Lolos- University of Thessaly.* Admission to these presentations is free and seating is limited.**

*Thanks to the Archaeological Institute of America and the generosity of an anonymous donor, admission to the Archaeological Institute of America/SunWatch Presentation Series is free and open to the public. All presentations begin at 10:30 and conclude about noon. Admission fees apply for guests wishing to explore the Village or the Interpretive Center before or after the presentations.

** While admission to these presentations is free seating is limited. Seating for all attendees will be done on a first come, first seated basis and if we reach the occupation limit in our main presentation room we will then begin seating in the theater for the overflow crowd. Pastries will be available but we will not be able to provide drinks, though you are welcome to bring your own coffee or other drink with you.
